Hábitat celebrates its biggest event in the last decade

The event for furniture, lighting, decoration and interior design will celebrate its largest edition since 2012, with 603 exhibiting firms and brands – 18% of them foreign from Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Turkey – and a floor space of more than 70,000 square metres, structured in the four pavilions on Level 2 of Feria Valencia, plus two pavilions on Level 3 and a third shared with the textile sector.

Hábitat returns boosted by the sector’s good momentum, which is showing a remarkable dynamism after the pandemic period. For example, the year-on-year rate of evolution of sales of Spanish furniture manufacturers grew by 5.4% during the second quarter of 2022 and is expected to grow by 1.7% in the third quarter, according to the Spanish Furniture Market Observatory of AIDIMME. In addition, exports are once again driving the sector with a growth of 12.4% and a turnover of 1,440 million euros in the first half of the year, according to official statistics from ICEX and Anieme.

The fair will also showcase the latest trends in interior design, with sustainability emerging as the great inspiration for today’s homes. Chairs and tables made from recyclable materials, acoustic ceilings made from recycled plastic bottles, organic and natural shapes, furniture made from wood from certified forests and collections that vindicate the survival of the handcrafted are some of this trends.
